In June of 2011 Scott Johnson was awarded the prestigious Mitchell Stallings Award for lifetime achievement on behalf of Independent Agents. The award was presented by The Florida Association of Insurance Agents and is only given in years when there is a clear, distinguishable winner.
He worked with the Florida Insurance Commissioner and then with the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA) for 36 years. He recently formed his own consulting firm and blog; Johnson Strategies, LLC. He serves on various public boards and committee's including the board of governors of the Florida Auto Joint Underwriting Association.
Scott has written four books, including two on association management, the first of which was the original Certified Association Executive (CAE) course guide; a designation he was one of the youngest to receive.
He was the 1991 President of the Florida Society of Association Executives, the state's leading organization serving state and national association executives. Scott is a charter member of the Accredited Adviser in Insurance (AAI) designation and a Certified Association Executive (CAE).
Scott was voted Florida's Association Executive of the Year in 1995.
The first of Scott's two insurance books tracks the competitive evolution of insurance and the history of independent agents titled From Cartels To Competition. His latest is “Platforms of Success", recently added to the curriculum of the acclaimed Associate of Insurance Production (AIP) designation program.
